Constant increase and growth in the manufacturing of electronics all over the World

Our planet has never before seen such high levels of electronics-waste and micro-plastics that are going back into the global environment and ecosystems.

In recent years, all major manufacturers have implemented the re-use of electronic components, either voluntarily or by force of law. With buy-back programmes and trade-in options for consumers, this is a step in the right direction when it comes to a green circular product life cycle. However, not all electronic parts and machines, such as mobile phones are returned for various reasons. Sometimes the OEM doesn’t offer fair compensation, or they may not be locally present, or it may not be the responsibility of the owner of the device – which is typical in most organizations and corporations. Luckily there are other ways to help the environment and to extend the product life-cycle: buy refurbished!

Every time a refurbished device is sold, there is one less brand-new unit required to be manufactured. At least in theory.

What exactly is a refurbished iPhone?

The concept is simple and the benefits are many – in short, refurbished means reconditioned, that is, used electronics that have been renovated so that it matches as close as possible to the original unit. There are many who crashier their iPhone because the battery has become too dull, the screen is defective or just because they need a newer model, but whatever the case, the phone still contains well-functioning parts. Isn’t that a bit of a waste? Yes, it is. This is where refurbished comes in.

Before we ship from our warehouse, used iPhones are thoroughly tested for errors, data erased and cleaned, so the product is basically new – therefore refurbished. Not only that, you get a high-quality product when you place an order through us, you still retain the usual rights as a standard 12-month warranty.

We get it – you’re not made of money

Here is the smart part – you save a lot of money by buying a refurbished iPhone that may have only been operating for a shorter time. If you can accept common-use scratches on a well-maintained iPhone, you can save even more money. You can see the committee here.

Some appear newer than others

If it still discourages you to buy a refurbished iPhone because you fear too many scratches, then there are varying degrees of refurbished products. Therefore, the products are divided into Grades A, B or C, where A is the best with only a few cosmetic signs for use and appears as brand new products.

Grade A: Very good condition, minimal signs of usage. No scratches on the cover or on the screen. Comes with a charger and cable.

Grade B: Very good condition, although may have surface scratches on the cover, but no scratches on the screen. Comes with a charger and USB cable.

Grade C: Fully functional device, but with significant signs of usage. May well have some scratches on the cover and screen, and/or a battery level below 50%. Comes with a charger and USB cable.

Grade D: Semi-functional device, but with minor defects, such as one of the sub-devices defect: i.e. a camera is not working, and/or defective fingerprint reader, Touch ID and/or degraded battery.
