ISO 45001

ISO 45001 is an International Standard that specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system, with guidance for its use. It enables organizations to provide safe and healthy workplaces by preventing work-related injury and ill health, as well as by proactively improving its OH&S performance.

This standard is applicable to any organization, regardless of its size or the nature of its work, that wishes to establish, implement, and maintain an OH&S management system to improve occupational health and safety, eliminate hazards and minimize OH&S risks, including system deficiencies.

ISO 45001 focuses on a management systems approach, integrating it with other health and safety standards. This means that the standard concentrates not just on the physical safety aspects but also the broader context of work, looking at the overall wellbeing of employees. It’s also designed to be integrated into an organization’s existing management processes and follows the same high-level structure as other ISO management system standards.
